Students need your support! CSU Summer Arts is a non-profit organization, and community support is vital to our existence and our ability to provide a meaningful experience for our students.

what is summer arts

A Celebration of the Visual and Performing Arts! California State University (CSU) Summer Arts students, faculty, artists, and audiences from diverse cultural communities come together to explore connections, develop new modes of communication, and engage in the creative process.

A Life-Altering Experience for students who study with guest artists in intensive workshops and masterclasses in theatre, music, dance, visual art, writing, filmmaking and videography, new technologies, and arts education. While earning three units of university credit Summer Arts allows students to delve deeper into their artistic process than ever before and leave the program with renewed vigor for their art and excitement about sharing that spirit with their communities. Working with guest artists, students make invaluable connections for future job opportunities.

Community Enrichment by highlighting world renowned guest artists with performances, exhibits, and lectures on a CSU campus and throughout the community. Summer Arts students take their workshops out of the classroom and into the community, working with local elementary schools and other community groups to share the excitement of the arts.

how can you participate

Student Scholarships are vital to the success of Summer Arts. Over 80% of CSU Summer Arts student participants receive scholarship assistance, due in part to private donations and sponsorship as well as support from all CSU campuses. It is our goal that no student is denied the Summer Arts experience on the basis of financial inability. Student enrollment fees range from $819 - $1005 per student, not including room and board.

Attend Public Events which are offered at little or no charge to the community in order to bring the arts to everyone. The Summer Arts festival features more than 25 public events including performances, lectures, and exhibits by guest artists from all over the world, as well as student culminations. Ticket proceeds will support the Scholarship Program.

We welcome Corporate and Private Sponsorship of events and receptions. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to take a more active role in the vitalization of Summer Arts.
