july 13 to july 26
  • Learn flamenco form, analysis, and technique from three of the greatest living guitarists and two of the best young guitarists in the world

  • Receive coaching and instruction as soloists, group instrumentalists, and accompanists of singing (cante) and dancing (baile) from Spanish artists.

  • Have the opportunity to study with each teacher in group and masterclass sessions, in groups, and as soloists.

  • Compose in each of the four main forms of flamenco: soleares, suguiriyas, rangos, and fandangos.

who should apply
Flamenco guitarists, classical guitarists, singers, dancers, percussionists, guitarist/composers, and composers with interest in flamenco form and analysis should apply for this course.

how to apply
  1. Send an audio or DVD recording of two flamenco themes, a bio, and one letter of recommendation.

  2. Send the materials listed in Step One and your completed Registration Form to the Summer Arts Registration Office by Monday, June 2, 2008.

Juani Serrano
One of the best young guitarists in the world.


Ricardo Marlow
Flamenco guitarist with a highly percussive style of playing. He has performed with Arte Flamenco Dance Company.


Juan Del Valle
Dancer. He has performed with some of today's leading flamenco artists including Jesus Montoya, Chuscales, Carmela Greco, and La Tania.


Jesus Montoya
Singer. He has toured tirelessly with most every major Flamenco company throughout the United States and Canada. Concert media reviewers dub him the "Pavarotti of Flamenco." (www.jesusmontoya.com)
